The Practitioner Learning Community is designed to deepen your knowledge in your practice. Wise Woman Herbals sponsors a series of monthly educational events for healthcare practitioners and is open to practitioners of all modalities. Register for the educational events that fit your needs. We are happy to have you as a part of our community!
Events may include webinars or one-hour practitioner forum calls—voice chats where practitioners can learn and have questions answered by an herbal naturopathic physician. Calls will have a clinical theme and educational information followed by a question and answer session.

PARTICIPATING PRACTITIONERS
Kris Vaughan, CH
Kris is a Certified Clinical Herbalist and Board Certified Holistic Health Coach by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP). Kris has focused her clinical practice in the area of complicated chronic illness, autoimmune, and digestive concerns. Kris is the owner and Program Director of Herbal Wisdom Institute and the Director of Practitioner Experience for Wise Woman Herbals. Kris spends her time between Oregon and her home in Arizona where she has a deep love and passion for the plants of the Sonoran Desert.
Rachel Alm, NTP, MMH, BCHN (R)
Rachel Alm is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Master Medical Herbalist, and Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition®. She is the owner of Open Road Botanicals and a lead instructor for the Nutritional Therapy Associationand the Herbal Wisdom Institute. She lives in the magnificent Grand Canyon National Park with her Park Ranger husband and their two amazing kids, where she manages the community garden, produces her line of herbal medicines, and offers community-based wellness services. Rachel creates offerings focused on opening channels needed to release burden, allowing the body to heal itself as nature intended. In her classroom and in practice, she combines the science of holistic health with the art of compassionate, individualized support. Follow her on FB and IG for her latest adventures!
Dr. Nagel, ND RH (AHG)
Glen has been a practicing herbalist and all around herbal wise guy for the last 25 years. Glen's background as an herbalist began with an apprenticeship with Herbal Ed Smith and Sara Katz, as well as Ryan Drum Ph.D. and Cascade Anderson Geller. Glen’s passion is to have students learning directly from the plants. Glen has a lifelong interest in plants and nature and believes in teaching with humor and hands-on experience. Glen is also a licensed naturopathic physician.
Sierra Thompson Nordquist,
NTP, CH
Sierra is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Herbalist and educational enthusiast on a mission to share the health promoting powers of nutrition and herbal botanicals with her community and beyond. Sierra owns and runs a private practice, Nutritive Roots, where she provides education and guidance through one-on-one nutritional and herbal consultations, cooking and herbal workshops, group programs and educational lectures. When not in the studio, Sierra can be found cooking up a culinary confection, creating herbal crafts and remedies, digging in to a good book (or the garden dirt), sipping a cup of tea, wildcrafting in the woods, enjoying being with friends and family, and of course – eating! Dr. Yasamine Farshad ND, CH
Dr. Yasamine Farshad is the Practitioner Education Manager for Wise Woman Herbals® where she coordinates educational events and content for health care practitioners. Dr. Farshad received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, Arizona and received her Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona. Dr. Farshad also teaches anatomy and physiology for Herbal Wisdom Institute where she received her herbalist certification. She focuses in nature cure using botanical medicine and nutrition.
